Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is one of the friendliest floors for a robot: it’s flat, hard and doesn’t snag brushes. The things that matter are how much water the mop puts down, whether you can tune mop pressure for the floor type, whether the mops lift or detach for rugs, and how well the robot handles transition strips between rooms. We picked four robot vacuum-mops whose manufacturer specs cover those points well.

Always follow your flooring manufacturer’s care instructions. Many vinyl plank makers caution against standing water and steam, so use a robot’s lower water settings until you know how your floor responds.

The picks in detail

Best for mopping LVP

Narwal Flow

The Flow replaces round spinning pads with Narwal’s FlowWash rolling track mop, which Narwal says is rinsed with 113°F warm water as it cleans, using 16 nozzles and 12N of downward pressure. For vinyl plank, a continuously rinsed mop means the robot isn’t pushing dirty water along the seams. The mop lifts 12 mm on carpet, and Narwal says it cleans to within 5 mm of edges.

The dock washes the mop with water up to 176°F, dries it at 104°F, and stores dust in a 2.5 L bag that Narwal rates for up to 120 days. Dual RGB cameras recognize more than 200 object types, and the robot can climb 1.6 in (40 mm) transitions.

Pros

  • Continuously rinsed track mop rather than spinning pads
  • 12 mm mop lift for rugs
  • Edge cleaning to within 5 mm (Narwal figure)
  • Large 2.5 L dust bag rated for up to 120 days
  • 40 mm threshold crossing handles most transition strips

Cons

  • 95 mm tall, so taller than the Saros 10R
  • Track-mop design is newer and less widely owned than spinning pads
  • Suction figures can’t be compared directly with Roborock’s
Best all-rounder

Roborock Qrevo Curv

For LVP, the Qrevo Curv’s standout spec is 30 water-flow levels. That gives you very fine control over how damp the dual spinning mops (200 rpm) run. It pairs a DuoDivide main brush with a FlexiArm Arc side brush for edges, lifts its mops 10 mm on carpet, and can raise its chassis 10 mm to clear 3 cm thresholds (4 cm double-layer).

The dock washes mops with 167°F (75°C) water, dries at 113°F and auto-empties for up to seven weeks. Roborock lists 18,500 Pa suction, PreciSense LiDAR navigation, recognition of 62 object types, and Matter support.

Pros

  • 30 water-flow levels for precise moisture control
  • Hot-water mop washing at 167°F
  • Chassis lift for transitions (3 cm; 4 cm double)
  • Matter support for smart-home integration

Cons

  • 10 mm mop lift is lower than Narwal’s 12 mm or the Saros 10R’s 22 mm
  • 103 mm robot height
  • Recognizes fewer object types (62) than the camera-led flagships
Best for low furniture

Roborock Saros 10R

At 7.98 cm (3.14 in), Roborock calls the Saros 10R its slimmest robot, so it reaches under low sofas and beds where dust collects on vinyl floors. For mixed LVP-and-rug homes it can lift its mops up to 22 mm or remove them in the dock before a carpet run, and its AdaptiLift chassis rises 10 mm to cross thresholds up to 1.57 in.

The 10-in-1 dock washes mops with 176°F water, dries them with 131°F air, refills, adds detergent and empties the dust bin. Navigation uses Roborock’s StarSight 2.0 system with VertiBeam side obstacle detection.

Pros

  • Slimmest robot here at 7.98 cm
  • Up to 22 mm mop lift plus auto mop removal
  • Hot-water mop washing (176°F) and warm-air drying (131°F)
  • Handles thresholds up to 1.57 in

Cons

  • Roborock’s published suction varies by source and region (see note)
  • A full-featured dock takes up more floor space
  • Newer Saros 20 now sits above it in Roborock’s range
Best floor-type tuning

Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is the simplest robot here on paper, but one spec matters for vinyl: Narwal says it applies 7N of mop pressure on wood floors and 12N on tile. That’s an example of a robot changing how it mops by floor type rather than using one setting everywhere. It lifts its mops 12 mm for carpet, uses tri-laser structured light plus LiDAR navigation, and dries mops in the dock at 40°C (104°F).

Narwal lists 8,200 Pa suction, DirtSense dirt detection and a zero-tangle floating brush. The dock holds a 1 L dust bag rated for about seven weeks.

Pros

  • Floor-type mop pressure (7N wood / 12N tile)
  • 12 mm mop lift
  • DirtSense dirt detection
  • Zero-tangle floating brush

Cons

  • Lowest suction rating here (8,200 Pa)
  • Smaller 1 L dust bag than the Narwal Flow
  • Threshold and height specs weren’t listed in the sources we checked

Also considered

  • Roborock Saros 20: Roborock’s newer flagship lists 36,000 Pa suction, mop pressure that rises from 8N to 13N on detected stains, 212°F mop washing and double-threshold crossing up to 1.77 + 1.69 in. It’s our Roborock pick in Roborock vs Narwal, but its extra climbing ability matters less on flat LVP.
  • Narwal Freo Z Ultra: lets you set the floor material to Tile or Wood in the app, and Narwal says it then adjusts mop pressure and humidity on wood. It has 12,000 Pa suction and 12 mm mop lift, but crosses only 20 mm thresholds (18 mm while mopping).
  • eufy X10 Pro Omni: eufy’s US product page now lists it as no longer available, so we dropped it.

Who should buy what

Mostly LVP with few rugs

Prioritize mopping quality and water control: the Narwal Flow or Roborock Qrevo Curv.

LVP plus area rugs

Look for high mop lift or mop removal so rugs stay dry: the Roborock Saros 10R (22 mm lift and auto removal) or the Narwal Flow (12 mm).

Low sofas and beds

The Saros 10R is 7.98 cm tall, the slimmest here. Measure your clearance first.

Worried about over-wetting seams

Choose a robot with fine water control (the Qrevo Curv’s 30 levels) or floor-type settings (Narwal Freo X Ultra, Freo Z Ultra), and start on the lowest water setting.

What matters for a robot on vinyl plank

  • Water control over raw suction. LVP has little texture for dirt to hide in, so suction differences matter less than on carpet. Adjustable water flow and floor-type settings matter more.
  • Mop lift or removal. If you have rugs over your LVP, a robot that lifts its mops (stated in mm) or leaves them in the dock keeps rugs dry.
  • Transition strips. T-moldings and reducers between LVP and tile or carpet are common stuck points. Compare stated threshold heights.
  • Edges. Baseboards collect dust on hard floors. Extending side brushes and mops (Roborock FlexiArm) or close edge cleaning (Narwal Flow’s 5 mm claim) help.
  • Hot-water dock washing happens in the dock, not on your floor. The temperatures quoted are for cleaning the mop pads.

Frequently asked questions

Are robot mops safe for LVP floors?

Most vinyl plank is water-resistant at the surface, but flooring makers generally warn against standing water and steam. Robot mops use a damp pad, not steam. Start on a low water setting and follow your floor manufacturer’s care guide.

Do I need high suction for vinyl plank?

Not especially. LVP is a hard, flat surface, so even the lowest-rated pick here (8,200 Pa) is designed for hard floors. Suction matters more for carpets and rugs. Also, each brand measures Pa differently.

Can a robot vacuum get over LVP transition strips?

Usually. Check the stated threshold height: Narwal lists 1.6 in (40 mm) for the Flow, and Roborock lists 1.57 in for the Saros 10R and 3 cm (4 cm double-layer) for the Qrevo Curv.

Should I use cleaning solution on LVP with a robot?

Use only the solution the robot maker approves, and check that your flooring maker allows it. Some floor cleaners leave residue or aren’t recommended for vinyl.

Did you test these robots on LVP?

No. These picks are based on manufacturer specifications and aggregated owner reviews, as described on our methodology page. We don’t publish invented test results.
